Eric works as a hospital chaplain. He has an academic background in the sciences, and a professional background in ministry. These sources inspire much of his writing. From the mystical poetry of Rumi to the philosophical works of Emily Dickinson, Eric finds inspiration in both the spiritual and natural realms. He has lived and worked in Sweden, where nature and spirit are close companions. His religious journey has brought him from the Baptist Church where his father preached, to the Methodist Church where he pastored for many years, and finally to Catholicism, his current spiritual home. Major influences include Carl Sagan, Frank Herbert, Gerald Manley Hopkins, the Bible, and the United Methodist Hymnal. Eric’s poetry has been published in Modern Haiku, Hummingbird, Rosebud, and numerous worship services. His song, Praise God the Lord of Space and Time, is published in the Catholic hymnal Credo. He created this website to be a compilation of songs, poems and prayers spanning his 40-year writing career, and to serve as an anthology for family, friends and neighbors. Eric lives with his family in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
